Is it over for Skype?

A company in China seems to have cracked Skype and generated a Skype client that let's you piggyback on the service. Soon we might see full functionality and perhaps a Free Software version of a Skype client.

Boy, will those guys at E-Bay be mad!

This is one of those cases in which the lawless fringes of the Net are challenging the scarcity/incentive powers that have fostered innovation for a couple of centuries. There is no simple moral to this story. But keep following it. It will only get more interesting.
