New York Supreme Court defers justice

Today New York failed to live up to its traditions of supporting equal rights and basic human justice.

The New York Supreme Court ruled that denying same-sex couples the right to marry is not a violation of equal protection provisions of the state constitution.

Ok. Now it's time to punt all the homophobes out of the legislature and get this thing done legislatively.

Once again, I am proud that our marriage license reads "Commonwealth of Massachusetts."
