Did Y'all Not Know This Either?

Today Ann Althouse's blog highlights this NYT article about the fact that that government agencies can track a person's movements through the signals emanating from cellular phones. She asserts that this information is "very interesting and important." I'm surprised that she was not already aware of this, it's gotten a fair amount of press ever the years, but if you didn't know this previously, now you do. The NYT article explains some uncertainties about the legal standard that prosecutors must meet to obtain and use cell phone tracking information.
