ACS sues Google over Scholar
The American Chemical Society says Google's new academic and scientific search engine, Google Scholar, is infringing on its established search product, Scifinder Scholar.
"Our action is not in any way focused on functionality; we are focusing simply on the use of the name."

I will leave it up to the IP folks to judge the merits of this lawsuit. But, I do believe that most, if not all, of the scientists I know have the intellectual wherewithal to discern the difference between Google Scholar and Scifinder Scholar.
