My California Identity is Really Troubled by This

When I was touring Washington with an intern from Congressman Brad Sherman's office, I had heard this, but "Capitol statues switched as subjects' fame fades" confirms that a statue of Ronald Reagan will replace a statue of Thomas Starr King in the Capitol building. Each state only gets two statues, as this list shows. What's also amazing to me is that they kept the figure of California's colonial past, Father Junipero Serra, and ditched the progressive orator and politician who kept California in the Union during the Civil War.
