More on Love and Hockey
Melissa and I have been together for about four years now. So we generally think we know and understand each other pretty well. Still, every once in a while we learn something new.
For instance, I recently learned that Melissa is not willing to come bail me out of jail when I start the burning, looting, and car-tipping in the immediate aftermath of the pending Sabres' Stanley Cup victory!
I learned this during a discussion of our family budget. I mentioned that we should put some money aside for bail money. She was not amused. She said something about how I would have to take responsibility for my actions or something ...
Who could have predicted that? I really thought I had married the sort of person who would bail her partner out. Had she turned over cars after the Red Sox World Series win (I forget when that was ... 1918 or something), I certainly would have bailed HER out. I tell you what ...
Of course, Melissa recently learned that she has married the sort of person who would burn, loot, and tip cars in the wake of a championship. I guess she assumed that by marrying a guy from Buffalo the chances of that ever happening were relatively slim.
I think this sort of thing should be in every pre-nup.
Anyway, I might have to appeal to the many Sivacracy readers for a little help come June. Think of it as an NPR fundraiser.
